Capturing water on film has always fascinated me. I took a trip to explore Oregon late fall, and one early morning I got up before the sun rose and went out exploring with my camera. I just needed a moment of solitude, a private moment with my surroundings. I discovered this perfect place after a mile hike into the woods. The mist seemed to create a surreal atmosphere, something that transported me for just a moment, to another place. For this shot I had to get into the water. It was cold, but it immediately helped me connect with the present moment. I set up a long exposure, and allowed the water to create it’s own mood right before me. The slow, gentle movement of these falls was calming. It was like mother nature was just waking up.
